Job Title: Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk – Contract Position Location: City of Industry, CA Pay Rate: $24-$26/hour Employment Type: Contract (6-8 weeks)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to join our team on a short-term contract basis, covering a leave of absence. The AP Clerk will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the accounts payable process, including 3-way matching, GL coding, and supporting weekly check runs. This position is critical to maintaining smooth financial operations during the leave period.
Key Responsibilities:
Process vendor invoices accurately and timely, ensuring proper 3-way match (purchase order, receiving, and invoice).
Perform General Ledger (GL) coding of invoices in accordance with company guidelines.
Assist in preparing and processing weekly check runs, including ACH payments and wire transfers.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions.
Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal departments regarding payment status or discrepancies.
Support month-end closing activities as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
Minimum of 1-2 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in the food manufacturing or related industry.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Experience with 3-way matching and GL coding is required.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday
