Job Title: Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk – Contract Position Location: City of Industry, CA Pay Rate: $24-$26/hour Employment Type: Contract (6-8 weeks)


Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to join our team on a short-term contract basis, covering a leave of absence. The AP Clerk will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the accounts payable process, including 3-way matching, GL coding, and supporting weekly check runs. This position is critical to maintaining smooth financial operations during the leave period.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Process vendor invoices accurately and timely, ensuring proper 3-way match (purchase order, receiving, and invoice).


  • Perform General Ledger (GL) coding of invoices in accordance with company guidelines.


  • Assist in preparing and processing weekly check runs, including ACH payments and wire transfers.


  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.


  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions.


  • Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal departments regarding payment status or discrepancies.


  • Support month-end closing activities as required.


Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.


  • Minimum of 1-2 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in the food manufacturing or related industry.


  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.


  • Experience with 3-way matching and GL coding is required.


  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.


  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.


  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.


Schedule:



  • Full-time, Monday through Friday
