Location: Hybrid – Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181 Schedule: Remote on Mondays and Fridays; in-office Tuesday through Thursday (9 AM–3 PM core hours; flexible start/end times).

About the Role


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Project Manager Assistant to support our Project Manager in planning and executing industrial construction projects. This role is ideal for candidates with strong organizational and analytical skills who are eager to contribute to project success while developing their expertise in construction management.


Key Responsibilities


Project Coordination:



  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction projects to meet deadlines.


  • Monitor project activities and provide regular updates to stakeholders and the project team.


Documentation & Reporting:



  • Organize and maintain project documents, including contracts, change orders, and RFIs (Requests for Information).


  • Prepare project status reports, meeting minutes, and presentations using Power BI and Excel.


Budget & Financial Tracking:



  • Track and analyze project budgets, assist with cost estimates, and process invoices.


  • Utilize advanced Excel tools (pivot tables, charts, and formulas) for financial reporting.


Communication & Team Collaboration:



  • Act as a liaison between the project manager, subcontractors, and internal teams.


  • Facilitate effective communication to resolve minor issues and ensure project alignment.


Procurement & Site Management:



  • Assist with material and equipment procurement, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.


  • Participate in site visits to monitor project progress and adherence to safety standards.


Risk Management & Quality Control:



  • Support quality inspections and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.


  • Identify potential project risks and provide recommendations for mitigation.


Qualifications


Required Skills:



  • Experience as a project management assistant in construction or a related field.


  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data visualization.


  • Knowledge of Power BI for data analysis and reporting.


Experience Requirements:



  • 1–3 years in construction project management, budgeting, or data analysis.


  • Familiarity with construction financial processes and terminology.


Preferred Skills:



  • Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project).


  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).


  • OSHA or other safety certifications are a plus.
